To update your version of WinGuides Tweak Manager, you need an Internet Connection. In some cases (such as if you are running Tweak Manager at your office location), that Internet Connection may require the use of a Proxy Serverùa network server that governs traffic between the network and the Internet.
The Connection Preferences for WinGuides Tweak Manager allow you to specify parameters for connecting to the Internet through a Proxy Server. There are five primary elements
╖ Proxy Typeùuse the drop-down menu to select a Proxy Type. Types include
╖ Socks v4
╖ Socks v5 (no authentication)
╖ Socks v5 (username/password)
╖ Proxy Addressùthe IP address or DNS name of your Proxy Server. Contact your network administrator for more information about this setting.
╖ Port Noùthe port number in your proxy server through which communication will take place. Contact your network administrator for more information about this setting.
╖ Usernameùif you chose the Socks v5 (username/password) Proxy Type, you must specify the username (as provided to you by your network administrator) here.
╖ Passwordù if you chose the Socks v5 (username/password) Proxy Type, you must specify the password (as provided to you by your network administrator) here.
